“Dancers in the light” er sería sem ég hef haft í huga í þó nokkurn tíma og nú, eftir að hafa klárað að teikna hana upp, var komið að því hella sér í verkið og mynda.
Það er eitthvað við ballettinn sem hrífur mig og hefur alltaf gert, hreyfingarnar, dansararnir, sögurnar og allt sjónarspilið, allt þetta er magnað og akkúrat það sem ég ætlaði mér að fanga…þessa fegurð.
Pælingin á bakvið myndirnar var að taka þessa fegurð og setja hana í dimmt, hrátt, ljótt og ef til vill óþægilegt umhverfi, umhverfi sem er algjör andstæða við ballerínurnar. Í öllu ljótu er þó alltaf hægt að finna eitthvað fallegt, hér er það ljósið sem fellur niður…sem vísar veginn…

“Dancers in the light” is a series I’ve been working on for quite some time and now, after finishing up the prep work, it was a good time to shoot it.
There’s something about the ballet that blows my mind and always has, the movements, the dancers, the stories and the whole spectacle surrounding it…that was what I wanted to capture with my work…that beauty.
The main idea was to take that beauty and shoot it in some rough, cold and ugly environment, environment that is contrary to the ballerinas. But in all the ugliness we can find something beautiful…here is the light, the light that leads the way…

…fór fram um helgina. Margir flottir og hæfileikaríkir hönnuðir mættu til landsins og sýndu þeir, ásamt þeim íslensku, fötin sín. Virkilega flott dót sem sumir hverjir voru með! Hlakka til að vinna með nokkrum ykkar á næstunni…

Jæja, þá er komið að síðustu myndinni í 80’s seríunni sem ég hef verið að vinna að síðustu mánuði.

Þessi sería er búin að vera hörkufjör að vinna eins og ég bjóst við þegar ég rissaði upp fyrstu myndina. Hver mynd og umfangið í kringum hana hefur verið krefjandi en skemmtilegt í leiðinni, að kynna sér tímabilið betur, rissa upp, finna módel, skjóta og vinna…allt þetta er búið að vera frábært
Nú er þessu lokið og serían tilbúin – gott verk að baki og árangurinn gleður.
Ég vil þakka módelunum mínum sérstaklega fyrir aðstoðina…þið eruð æði stelpur!

For the last couple of months I’ve been working on this idea that I had, doing a tribute to the 80’s workout look. Don’t know why but this time has a special place in my mind, the colors, the attitude, the clothes…everything about this time was so awesome.So in april I started thinking and sketching the ideas that I had…and couple of months later…this is the final result. Hope you enjoy browsing through it like I enjoyed shooting it.

Photoshoot l Begga
Shot at the same place as the shoot with Biggi but couple of days earlier. The weather was actually pretty lousy, cold, dark and cloudy. But with a little bit of help from couple of Mr. 580EX flashes the shoot turned out just fine…

Yup…this one is going to be in english for the foreign readers…the first one here and hopefully not the last
A great weekend is coming to an end and what better way to end it then with a photoshoot. I went to an abandoned house near Reykjavik with Biggi to get some headshots of him for his website.
As you can see on the shots below the weather was (and is) great here in Iceland….damn I love shooting in these conditions Hopefully it will stay this way this week…ahead of me are 2x model shoots, 1x wedding shoot and 1x promo shoot for a local band.
